Thadeus Mwalo is our Data Engineer. He talks technology, the importance of accessible credit solutions, and why he loves working at Ezra.
What does your role involve?
On a day-to-day basis, my role involves developing data processing pipelines, and also contributing to the design, implementation, and release of new technologies and data science initiatives. This allows me to deliver high quality, testable, secure, readable, and documented software.
How is Ezra making a difference in emerging markets?
Ezra offers crucial access to credit in emerging markets where financial inclusion is low, and traditional banking services are inaccessible. By making lending solutions accessible and affordable for everyone, we’re helping to reduce poverty and promote economic growth in these markets.
What has been your most notable experience whilst working at Ezra?
One of my most notable experiences has been learning about how mobile and airtime loans have become popular in many emerging markets. Especially in Africa, where a significant portion of the population who lack access to traditional financial services use the service daily. It’s clear that there’s a real opportunity for fintechs to solve the issues which affect people in emerging markets on a daily basis, such as access to traditional financial services.
What do you enjoy most about working at Ezra?
